DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:



  • Coordinate the transporting of patients from hospital to their homes, alternate hospital and/or other skilled nursing facility.

  • Working directly with Physicians, Hospital Management Staff, Case Management Coordinators, Nurses, Social Workers, Unit Clerks and Patients in determining the most appropriate mode of transportation.

  • Obtain all necessary information pertaining to: call scheduling, insurance coverage and appropriate equipment to complete a transport.

  • Book discharges with the AMR Communications Department personnel to alleviate Hospital personnel being on the telephone for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to work with Critical Care, Neo Natal, and Psychiatric patient transports deemed immediate or routine.

  • Maintain contact with AMR Communications Department personnel to ensure the timeliness of transports.

  • Assist AMR ambulance crews in expediting the availability by assisting them in preparing their ambulance for their next call.

  • Direct AMR ambulance crews by promoting timeliness & efficiency while assisting with paperwork and patient concerns between facility staff and crews.

  • Functions as an integral member of the Discharge Planning, Care Coordination and Social Services team.

  • Coordinates and schedules all hospital discharge transportation needs for AMR clients.

  • Acts as a liaison between AMR staff and all hospital departments to coordinate all transportation issues.

  • Coordinates and obtains prior approvals for all levels of transportation, to include medical necessity conformation and prior authorizations from third party payers.

  • Maintains high levels of Customer / Patient service at all times.

  • Coordinates/ Provides Guidance to AMR personnel during hospital transports.

  • Solves problems relative to service and billing issues.

  • Assists with employee relations and productivity.

  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance in accordance with the company policy.

  • All other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:



  • High School diploma or GED required.

  • Knowledge of the service area preferred

  • Previous scheduling experience preferred.

  • EMT certification or ability to obtain EMT in one year and maintain for the duration of the position preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral required.

  • Excellent customer relations skills and decision making ability required.

  • Experience & complete understanding of the Medical Necessity Requirements for Ambulance & Chair car Transports.

  • Compliant with all Company-mandated training

  • No record of corrective action in employment history for the last six months.

FACILITY REQUIREMENTS:



  • Must have current TB results, hepatitis & tetanus vaccination records as well as medical certification indicating fit for duty.

  • Ability to pass a background and CORI check.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
