MENTORMaryland, BaltimoreTeens in Transition Program is currently seeking a Therapist for our TherapeuticFoster Care Program serving children ages 0-21 who have experienced significanttrauma and are cared for in a community based foster home setting.
Serving as a Therapist, you can have an amazing impact inthe quality of services for the children and families we support. Workwith children and teens as well as their foster families by providingpsychotherapy, improving the mental health of those in our care. Bepart of a strong team of social workers and clinicians in this innovativecommunity based model.
We are looking for adynamic and passionate person who is a strong advocate for children and who is committedto assisting with the challenges of adjusting to foster homes while working on apermanent placement plan. Our Therapistroles provide a fantastic opportunity to serve families and to continue a careerpath in Social and Human Services.
Specific tasks include:
Conducts psychosocial assessments todocument history and identify preliminary issues for treatment by interviewingthe child and family (if applicable), and transcribing or dictating relevantinformation for client records.
Provides individual, family and/orgroup therapies using various treatment modalities.
Develops individualized treatmentplans in coordination with interdisciplinary team to include but may not belimited to: The Department of Children and Families, District FamilySafety/Community Based Care Provider, Juvenile Justice Counselor (ifapplicable), and child targeted case manager (if one is assigned)
Works with members of theinterdisciplinary team to coordinate other treatment initiatives includingschool performance, permanency, and reunification planning.
Develops and coordinates dischargeplan based on treatment, indicating all relevant aftercare needs and plans.Accesses community resources that would be beneficial to client aftercareneeds.
Attends regular treatment teamstaffing and level of care meetings.
Conducts educational groups forclients, families and foster parents. Provides documentation of foster parenteducational in-services to adhere to foster parent licensing standards,assuring that the skills needed for treatment plan in the home environment arelearned.
Prepares and trains the child'sbiological or legal parents to resume care of their child when reunification isthe goal (if applicable to the population being served).
Maintains current, legible andadequate medical record documentation in client's chart. Assures that allrequired client documentation is in their chart, including any foster parentand/or outside agency documentation pertaining to the client.
Conducts regularly scheduledface-to-face meetings with client and caretaker in order to monitor the child'sprogress and discuss treatment strategies and services. Attends regular staffmeetings, clinical meeting and one-on-one sessions with direct supervisor toprocess current status of cases.
Performs other related duties andactivities as required.

Qualifications:
What we require of you:
Master'sDegree in a human services field
A Maryland License to practicebehavioral health care: LCSW, LCSW-C, LCPC
Validdriver's license in good standing
Accessto a registered and insured vehicle
Successfulclearance of background checks including fingerprinting

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
