For Sale: 1957 Ford Thunderbird in Linthicum, Maryland for sale in Halethorpe, MD
Vehicle Description 1957 FORD THUNDERBIRD TWO TOPS & HIGHLY OPTIONED We just acquired this really nice 1957 Thunderbird from a local guy who had bought it for his wife about 7 years ago.
He told us that her parents had one just like it back in the day and that the car reminded her of a more simple time.
We were told that the car was initially bought out of southwest Texas where it had been all of it's life.
He also told us that he spent a lot of time and money repairing and replacing most of it's mechanical systems so his wife would have a comfortable, safe and carefree ride.
The body is all original and solid as a rock and rust free including the floors, trunk & frame.
It was repainted in it's original EE Colonial White sometime ago in single stage paint and is driver quality at best.
It still looks good and shines well but there are some minor imperfections, cracks, chips & scratches as to be expected from an older restoration.
Same goes for the chrome, trim & weather stripping.
It does have both hard & soft tops which are all in good condition.
The interior is also in very nice condition.
It was recently restored in original code XL Dresden Blue & Starmist Blue and looks great.
Powered by it's original 312c.
i.
V4 engine that runs really good, smooth & strong.
It has some nice updates too including a 12 volt alternator conversion using the correct wiring harnesses etc It is backed by it's original 2 speed automatic transmission and rear differential.
Other features include, power steering, power disc brakes (front only) ice cold dealer installed air conditioning (converted to R134) Town & Country radio, new wide white wall radial tires.
This car had most of it's mechanical systems rebuilt or redone new including the steering, the front & rear suspension, the fuel tank & fuel lines and the brakes front & rear & lines too.
We took her out on the highway today and was totally impressed on how nice she cruises at 65mph.
A real dream to drive !! NOTE COMING SOON! IN OUR SHOP BEING SERVICED & PREPPED FOR SALE.
