Vehicle Description 1964 BUICK SKYLARK SPORT COUPE 300 V-8 We recently purchased this car from a local older gentleman who is retired and a 100% CAR-GUY ! He has quite a few cars and hot rods all of which he had built or restored.
This Buick was his most recent restoration project.
He explained us that after all the time and money that he had invested into its restoration and after only cruising it around for a few hundred miles this past summer since its completion that the recent professionally rebuilt engine started making some weird noise and he told us that had enough and was done with the car.
He called us and said to come get it if we wanted it.
Well, HELL YEAH so,we dropped what we were doing and headed over to his garage and made a deal we both were happy with.
This is a real cool old car so, CHECK IT OUT!! First of all, we were told that this is an original 56,000-mile car that had a decent body to begin with, it had minimal rust that was mostly down low and it was decided that it was best to replace both lower 1/4 patch panels behind the rear wheels.
He said that the rest of the sheet metal was original and solid.
After completing the needed bodywork, it was painted in a single stage Black Metallic that looks pretty good and has a real good shine.
Most of the chrome, trim, weatherstripping and glass had been replaced and the black bucket seat interior was redone new including the seats, carpets, panels and headliner.
It all looks really-really good! The engine is the original aluminum head 300c.

V-8 that as soon as we got the car back to our shop, pulled it and sent it to our engine builder.
He disassembled it and found that the center cam bearing had spun.
He said it probably had been improperly installed during its initial rebuild.
He also said that the rest of the engine appeared in like new rebuilt condition, so he fixed what was broke and re-assembled the engine then he ran it on his engine stand before bringing it back to us just to make sure all was good and IT IS!! Now, she purrs like a kitten and runs smooth and strong! We also fully tuned it as well by replacing the plugs and plug wires, points and condenser.
Set the timing and dwell and adjusted the carb (Just saying) All of this is backed up by what appears to be the original 2 speed automatic transmission and its original rear differential.
It also appears that the steering and suspension have recently been replace.
