THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE! We just got in this super nice, super rare (1 of 4578) 1968 Camaro RS/SS 396-375 L-78.
We purchased it from a longtime owner who over time restored the car to a very high level.
He told us that he proudly showed the car at his local car shows and cruise nights as well as he participated in the Camaro Nationals many times and that he always came home with an award or trophy.
One look and you can see why.
This car is very nice and very nicely restored to original condition.
CHECK IT OUT!! The body is super straight, solid and clean including the floors, trunk and frame all of which have been properly painted and detailed.
The Matadore Red base/clear paint which is the original color for this car is absolutely gorgeous.
We just wet sanded, compounded, buffed, polished and ceramic coated the paint to protect the shine for a long time.
It is super slick and smooth with a deep luster and show car shine! All the chrome, trim and weather stripping are in like new condition too.
The standard black bucket seat interior also looks like new including the seats, carpets, door panels, headliner and dash.
It has the rare and optional fold-down back seat and a center console with gauge package and the correct 6000 rpm red-line tic-toc tach.
It is all very-very nice!! Power comes from what we were told is a CE warranty replacement block that is dated May 1968.
It does have the dated and coded correct 840 rectangle port heads, solid lift cam, aluminum snow-flake intake, exhaust manifolds, Holley 4 bbl.
carb, distributor, alternator and deep groovepulleys.
All of this has been recently rebuilt and we have a stack of receipts and pictures to back it all up.
The 4 speed Muncie transmission with correct Hurst Shifter is numbers matching to the car as well as the 12 bolt posi-traction rear with 3:
55 gears too.
Other features include new steering and suspension, power disc brakes (front only) new Gardener dual exhaust, AM radio, upgraded electric hide-a-way headlights, 14 rally wheels with red line tires and so much more! This 1968 RS/SS L-78 Camaro is very-very nice and by all indications it is very real and very original.
A great investment quality, rare Camaro that will not disappoint!! DON'T MISS I.
